Old poetry
Digging through old papers. Here are some things I wrote in
HS. I didn’t write a single line of this first set, I just put
the lines together.
Fragments
In the beginning…
I sat in front of my typewriter…
It was a dark and stormy night…
In Xanadu did Khubla Khan a stately pleasure dome decree…
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…
God created the Heavens and the Earth…
This made a lot of people very unhappy…
We go about our lives understanding almost nothing about the world…
The grand objective of physics is to understand the universe in terms as
simple as possible…
I say, let your affairs be as two or three, and not a hundred or a
thousand…
Infinity: bigger than the biggest thing ever, and then some…
Infinite is his understanding…
The gods have died and in their name, humanity is sold to shame…
A war with no monuments, no battles, only casualties…
Shall we play a game..?
You arrogant ars, you’ve killed us…
The war was over, and there was no place in particular to go…
Fragments II
In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God
God Created the Heavens and the Earth
There was things which he strechted, but mainly he told the truth.
But we see now through a glass darkly, and the truth, before it is revealed
to all, face to face, we see in fragments.
Make sure that bomb shelter’s got a can opener — ain’t much good without a can
opener…
Fragments III
Once upon a midnight dreary…
In the course of human events…
I was occasioned by an apple…
And there was light and it was good…
… in those dark times a wise man had to believe things that were in contradiction
among themselves…
While I pondered weak and weary…
… all will fall one by one…
… little, two little, three little Indians…
Through man curious volumes of forgotten lore…
… such was Alexandrian knowledge…
The future will be just like the past-
only more expensive.
