So I just got back from JavaOne(tm).  First off, I feel like a
first class idiot for not staying in San Francisco for a few more
days.  Though I did get a good tour of path between the Mariott
and the Mascone Center, so not all was lost…
Okay, I’m stupid.

As you can see above, I had to go all the way to California to ride my
first mechanical bull (I did a decent 24 seconds).  (Though now I
look at the picture and it looks like I’m touching myself where I
shouldn’t be while in extreme pain.)  That was from the java 10th
birthday bash on Wednesday night.  They had Dennis Miller (who was
funny, but not as funny as I remember, probably because I don’t agree
with some of the stuff he says).  Along with the mech bull, they
also had a bungee trampoleen.  Imagine being hooked to two bungee
cords attached to two sailing mast over a trampoline.
Unfortunately as we were waiting in line, one of the mast
collapsed.  Needless to say, we didn’t feel like getting on after
that.

I also came back with a decent haul of swag, which I’ll need to sort
tomorrow afternoon.  I even learned a thing or two.  For
instance, I now know how Java generics work, I need to get my hands on
some smart dust, and that I’m going to have to make myself a nifty AJAX
app.

That’s all for now.  It’s about time I get me some sleep, I’m actually crazy enough to head into work tomorrow.

  1. That’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen!  haha!  Do you remember my old roomy, Jennifer?  For some odd reason, she’s always wanted to ride on of those things!  lol!

  2. just sayin’ hi.  hi!  it is kinda ironic that you went from texas to california to ride a mechanical bull… although i guess you have the real thing in texas.  hope work is going well for you.
